Scene 1

(Chandler moves to the couch and sits down in sorrow.)

Chan: How can I be so stupid??? I should've listened to the tape before giving it to her. ( He runs his fingers through his hair, and thinks. All of a sudden he gets up and storms into the bedroom.)

Chan: Look, Mon, I am so sorry. I just wanted this Valentine's Day to be special, and I screwed it up. ( He sits beside her on the bed)

Mon: Keep talking.

Chan:(sighs) I never wanted to be the type of boyfriend to forget something special and important to the woman that I love. Monica, I love you so much, and I don't want this holiday to prove that wrong.

Mon:(she takes his hand into hers) Chandler, I know you love me, and this was a mistake. And you can't be fully blamed. (She takes a deep sigh, showing this is hard for her to say) I'm sorry, too.

Chan: For what?

Mon: Well, I also forgot to make the present and took the first thing available, and I shouldn't be mad at you. We both screwed up.

Chan:( smiles) OK, Monica, please promise me we'll never make gifts for each other again.

Mon:(laughs) I promise, if you promise me that I don't hear Janice's voice ever again.

Chan: Trust me when I say I would rather sleep in a dog house than hear that laugh again. I mean I did go to Yemen to get away from that.

Mon:(tries to do the laugh) You're not gonna leave me now, are you? (jokingly)

Chandler:(serious) I would never leave you. You are the best thing that ever happened to a pathetic guy like me.

Mon.(looks at him speechlessly) Wow, I love you so much. (She starts tearing up.)

( Chandler hugs her and looks into her eyes. She looks at him, and they begin to kiss passionately.)

Scene 2

Rach: Ross, I can't believe you chased those two women. (she starts to laugh)

Ross: I thought they were you and Phoebe.

Phoebe: Those girls did look like us. Hey, maybe we have found our twins.

Rach: What?

Phoebe: You know. ( Rachel looks at her perplexed.) Come on, you never heard that everyone on earth has their own twin, and it's just a matter of finding them.

Ross: Phoebe, where did you hear this?

Phoebe: Everyone knows that.

Rach: (looks at Ross telling him with her face to let this go) Hey, Pheebs, ready to go to class? It starts in 5 min.

Phoebe: Yep, but one second, let me go order some unagi.

(Rachel begins to laugh until she sees Ross' face)

Rach: Pheebs, let's go now before he blows up.

Phoebe: Bye, Ross!

(Rach and Phoebe exit.)

Scene 3

(Chandler and Monica are walking down the street holding hands.)

Chan: Mon, you know what we should do?

Mon: What?

Chan: Get a dog.

Mon: I don't think so. You know a dog is just like taking care of a child.

Chan: Ok, ignore that thought.

Mon: Do you want to get some lunch?

Chan: Actually, Mon, do you mind if I go alone? I feel bad about the tape, and I know we both screwed up, but you did try to make it up to me, so I want to do the same.

Mon: Chandler, that is sweet, but you know you don't have to.

Chan: I want to. (He kisses her passionately and walks off. Monica just stands there stunned.)

Scene 4

(Monica is in her and Chandler's apt. alone)

(Chandler walks through the door.)

Mon: Where were you?

Chan: Mon, I was out thinking of a way to make this up to you.

(He walks closer to Monica, and just as she is about to speak , he puts two fingers on her lips.)

Chan: Don't say anything. (She looks at him) Monica, it has almost been two years. I mean that we have been together so long, and I still have to pinch myself at times to make sure this is true. Anyway, back to the point. Ever since that night in London, both of our lives have changed for the better. I can honestly say that I have found my soulmate, the woman whom I want to spend my life with. Monica, being with you has changed my life so much. I 'm happy, I look forward to each day with you, and most of all I'm not afraid to say this or think this. (Monica has tears in her eyes and is looking at him lovingly) Monica, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, Mon...(He begins to get down on one knee. He takes a black velvet box from his pocket) Monica, will you...

(All of a sudden the door swings open.)

Woman: OH MY GAWD!!!

Chan/Mon: OH MY GAWD!!!

Chan: (regaining his ability to talk) Janice, what are you doing here??

Mon:(still stunned) Yeah.

Jan: Well, I called you work to see how my bing-a-ling was doing in Yemen, and the man said you never went. Chandler, did you lie to be?

Chan: Well...(searching for something to say and looks at Monica.)

Mon: He...he, um, he went to Yemen for a few days actually and came back sad that the job didn't work out.

Chan: Yeah... and the guy you called has only worked there for a few months, so he didn't know I went.

Jan: (looking a bit hurt.) You're telling me you've been back for almost 2 years and never called.

Chan:(looking down.) Well, yeah. I'm so sorry, but a lot has changed since then.

Jan: (crossing her arms.) Like what?

Mon: Janice, look he couldn't call because he's...

Chan:(cutting her off)_I've been working late, and my mom was very sick and needed me to be at her side, and I wasn't ready for a relationship.

Mon: (angry) WHAT!!!??!! (She storms off into the bedroom and slams the door.)

Chan:(looking hurt.) Look, Janice, the truth is ...(he tries to say the words but can't) the truth is that I have fallen in love over the last two years.

Jan: You what??

Chan: Let me talk, ok? Two years ago I fell in love with the most beautiful woman.(You can see Monica at the door looking happy.) We've been together for that time, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

Jan:(looking hurt.) Oh.

Chan:(walks closer to her.) Janice, you'll always have a special place in my heart, but I love this woman so much that I would do anything for her.

Janice:(almost crying) Who is she??

Chan: You know her actually. It's Monica.

Jan: (does the laugh) You've got to be kidding.(he has a very serious look on his face.) Oh, you're not. So when I came in, you were going to ask her to marry you, huh?

Chan: Well, yeah.( We see Monica with tears of joy.)

Jan: Goodbye, Chandler Bing. (She walks over to him and they hug. "Endless Love" begins to play in the background.)

(Janice lets go and leaves the apartment. We see her in the hall, and Joey's apt. door opens.)

Joey: AAHHHHHHH!!!

Scene 5

(Chandler sits on the couch staring at the ring with tears in his eyes. The song With Arms Wide Open begins to play by Creed.)

Well I just heard the news today

It seems my life is going to change

I closed my eyes, begin to pray

(Monica walks out of the room and into Chandler's arms.)

Then tears of joy stream down my face.

(The music fades away slowly)

Chan: I am so sorry, Monica. I don't know why I didn't let you tell her about us.

Mon: Chandler it's ok, you were scared. It happens.

Chan: But it shouldn't. Anyway now that she's gone and out of our lives for good, I would like to continue what I was saying. (He gets down on one knee.) Monica will you marry me?

Mon: (crying) Of course I will.

Chan: (Hugs her and kisses her passionately) Wow, this is great. You know I never thought I would be marrying a woman like you.

Mon: What do you mean?

Chan: I mean marrying the perfect woman, or at least perfect for me. I love you, Mon. (He slides the ring on her finger, and begins to cry.)

Mon: Chandler you're crying.

Chan: I know, this deserves a few tears. Can I be any happier?

Mon:(laughs) I love you.

Chan:(kisses her) I love you, too.

(The song comes back on)
